This cartoon image was photographed inside the Ettamogah Pub north of Brisbane. Telstra reception can be a bit patchy so the locals sometimes go to extraordinary lengths to phone home. Scientists believe that this extraordinary practice evolved as a survival mechanism. While drinking my Victoria Bitter I heard one individual call down from the top of the pole "watch out Wally, here comes your flaming wife".
